Edina, Minneapolis Athletes To Be Highlighted in Presentation
Author Patrick "Packy" Mader is delighted to be invited to share his passion for Minnesota sports, history, and geography with members and guests at the Edina Senior Center. His book, Minnesota Gold, features the stories, lives, challenges, perseverance, and achievements of 57 Minnesota athletes who competed on the world stage--primarily the Olympics. Three Edina athletes are highlighted in his book: Jenny Schmidgall Potter, four-time hockey Olympian in 1998, 2002, 2006, and 2010; Janis Klecker, marathon runner who competed in the 1992 Olympics; and Kaylin Richardson, alpine skier in the 2006 and 2010 Olympics; and longtime Edina teacher Van Nelson, a 1968 Olympian.
Also included in the presentation are athletes from not only every section of the Twin Cities, but every part of the state! Come learn about these remarkable athletes and how they have contributed to their sport and communities. Discover Minnesota Gold!
